Gungahlin
Gungahlin is Canberra’s fastest growing region, situated to the north of the City Centre. At the heart of Gungahlin’s town centre is the Gungahlin Marketplace - a young and energetic place with a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options in a more “high street’ setting, rather than the more traditional “shopping mall” styles of Canberra’s other town centres.
Being Canberra’s youngest region, Gungahlin is undergoing the rapid expansion associated with an emerging community, yet some families have been in residence since the early 1990s. There is an abundant choice of schools and sporting and recreation facilities and commuting has been made easier with the completion of the Gungahlin Drive Extension in 2008 - a major arterial road connecting Gungahlin with most other parts of Canberra.
